Nordomatic, global leading independent BMS integrator and parent company for both Yanzi and Spica Technologies have recently stated their strategic decision to sunset Yanzi IoT products and data platform Insights by December 2025. Spica’s workplace experience platform GemEx has been appointed as the official replacement service for Insights.
Why is the Yanzi IoT product line being sunsetted?
Yanzi IoT and Insights are one portion of their offering. Whilst other aspects have been assimilated into the new iBOS solution, the IoT hardware and platform, no longer aligns with Nordomatic’s vision of focusing on delivering innovative software-only solutions. Having worked alongside the team responsible for Yanzi as integration partners and then as sister companies we cannot forget the incredible achievements they have made over the last 10 years. Like any business today it is imperative to adapt to our customers’ needs.

How does GemEx differ from Yanzi?
Spica’s GemEx Platform is a fully integrated digital workplace solution. It focuses on improving both workplace management and employee experience. With app and platform tools to support hybrid work, space utilisation, and environmental optimisation whilst maintaining an agnostic approach with best of breed IoT sensors fit for the use case.
Yanzi IoT Insights is more of a sensor-driven facilities management solution, specialising in environmental and occupancy data for building optimisation, but without the broader workplace experience or hybrid work features.
