Introducing Smart Lockers: A New Era of Secure and Flexible Storage

In the ever-evolving workplace, secure and flexible storage for both personal and shared items is crucial. We’re excited to introduce our latest feature, Smart Lockers, which integrates the Vecos smart locker system through our GemEx platform. This integration streamlines locker management by linking Vecos’s system Releezme’s locker setup with GemEx, enhancing both convenience and security in managing locker usage across your organisation.

Here’s everything you need to know about our Smart Lockers and how they can benefit your team.

GemEx offers seamless connectivity by mapping locker locations from Vecos’s system Releezme. Admins will still need to access Releezme to set up and assign lockers. However, GemEx simplifies the process by allowing you to map these lockers to point types in our platform. This integration ensures that all locker locations managed in GemEx are accurately reflected in Releezme.

2. Effortless Locker Management

With the addition of the Lockers module in the GemEx App, both admins and users can manage their locker needs with ease. The module provides comprehensive tools for assigning, claiming, and releasing lockers, all from the convenience of your mobile device.

3. Admin Platform: Control and Flexibility at Your Fingertips

Admins can now assign “team lockers” to specific groups of users, such as the “Finance Team.” These team lockers are accessible to all members of the group at any time, making them perfect for storing shared equipment or resources.

Need to update the list of users assigned to a team locker? No problem. Admins can quickly add or remove users from a team assignment, ensuring that only the right people have access to shared storage.

To enhance security and manage locker availability, admins can “block” lockers, releasing them for others to claim. For instance, if your office closes at 6:00 PM and personal belongings cannot be stored overnight, admins can block all personal lockers at the end of each day.

4. For App Users: User-Friendly and Convenient

Users can easily view a list of available lockers within their selected building, ensuring quick access to storage. Once you’ve found an available locker, simply select it to claim it for personal use.

The app also provides a map view, showing the exact location of locker banks, making it simple to find and claim a locker.

The “My Lockers” tab displays all the lockers a user has claimed or been assigned, offering a clear overview of your storage options.

Unlocking a locker is straightforward—just tap the unlock option, and the locker will open for a configured time period (e.g., 10 seconds). The app even provides a countdown on the screen, so you know exactly how much time you have. Once you’re finished using a locker, you can release it through the app, making it available for others to claim. This feature ensures that locker resources are efficiently utilised.
