Last Friday, March 15th, Spica’s Business Development Manager, Paul Mundy, attended WORKTECH Financial London 2024. The event was hosted at none other than Spica’s esteemed client, M&G’s headquarters in the iconic 10 Fenchurch Avenue building. Spica was a bespoke sponsor of the event, where Spica’s MD, Paul Jones, and Head of Account Management, Alex Moon, were presenting on the topic of “Real Employee Experiences In The Phygital Workplace”.
Read on to find out how Paul found the event.
My Day at WORKTECH Financial London
Wow, what an incredible time I had at the WORKTECH Financial London 2024 event! As someone attending this event for the first time, I have to say, it exceeded all my expectations.
The event brought together so many thought leaders to discuss the future of work, and it was fascinating to hear their insights. We talked about everything from digital transformation to creating more welcoming workplaces.
One of the highlights for me was the session featuring Sarah O’Reilly and her team, who presented an insightful case study on the transformation of 10 Fenchurch Avenue. Sarah delved into the challenges they faced in adapting the building for new ways of working during the pandemic, also sheding light on the pivotal role played by Spica Technologies’ innovative workplace solutions. It was fascinating to see how Spica’s workplace app was leveraged by M&G to enhance their workplace experience and address the evolving needs of employees in their dynamic environment.
It was also great to see my colleagues Paul Jones and Alex Moon, showcase our GemEx workplace experience app. Their demonstration showed the potential of technology to enhance the employee experience and drive productivity in the modern workplace. Spica is truly reshaping the way we all work.
Three key themes emerged prominently throughout the day:
1. New Paradigms and Digital Transformation:
The post-pandemic era has ushered in a new way of thinking about work. Decentralised teams, flexible schedules, and rapid technological advancements are reshaping the workplace landscape. Organisations must embrace these changes and develop strategies to thrive in the digital era.
2. Changing Landscape: The Future of Work:
What lies ahead for the future of work? How should business leaders respond to evolving trends and challenges? These questions were central to discussions at the event, prompting attendees to consider how they can adapt and prioritise in the months ahead.
3. New Ways of Working:
The event showcased active and newly completed financial workplace projects in London, offering insights into key considerations for attracting top talent, creating hospitality-driven workplace experiences, and aligning workplace developments with sustainable and responsible business practices.
Time for some networking
Then came the opportunity to network and connect with like-minded individuals. From engaging conversations over coffee to thought-provoking discussions during the panel sessions, I found myself surrounded by passionate individuals who shared my enthusiasm for exploring the future of work.
My first experience at WORKTECH was incredible. The energy, the insights, the connections – it’s been a whirlwind of learning and growth. I’m already looking forward to attending more events like this in the future.
